形態特徵

• Shrubs, 1–2 m tall; branches and branchlets glabrate or sparsely pubescent.
• Leaves subcoriaceous or chartaceous, ovate, elliptic or narrowly elliptic, 4–8 cm long, 2–4 cm broad; base mostly obtuse mostly, apex caudate-acuminate; upper surface glabrous, lower surface appressed short pubescent on nerves; secondary veins 4 or 5-pairs, veinlets subparallel, forked or rarely reticulate; stipules narrowly deltate, ca. 1 mm long, sparsely pubescent, caducous in age; petiole 4–12 mm long, sparsely short pubescent.
• Flowers sessile, ebracteate, clustered in axillary heads. Calyx campanulate, ca. 2 mm long, pubescent outside, lobes 5, ca. 0.6 mm long. Corolla salverform, ca. 8 mm long, white, upper 2/3 of tube pubescent inside, pubescent outside, lobes 5. Stamens 5, filaments ca. 0.5 mm long, anthers oblong. Style filiform ca. 3.5 mm long, stigma 5-branched, white or purple.
• Drupes globose, 4–6 mm in diam., blue, persistent calyx pubescent. Seeds 5.

分布

• 台灣 : sparsely distributed in broad-leaved forests at low to medium elevations.
• 世界 : Philippine and Java.
